Levocetirizine Hydrochloride Tablets are a third-generation antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes) and chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). Containing the active compound levocetirizine dihydrochloride, they work by blocking histamine H1 receptors, reducing allergic responses. Effects include reduced allergy symptoms and improved comfort. Common side effects are drowsiness, dry mouth, fatigue, and headache. Rarely, serious reactions may occur. Chemically, it is the R-enantiomer of cetirizine, offering increased potency and fewer sedative effects. It is generally taken once daily and should be used under medical supervision, especially in kidney-impaired patients.
