Product Description

Amikacin Sulphate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic found in Zebamik 500 Injection that is used to treat severe bacterial infections of the circulation, bones, joints, abdomen, urinary system, and lungs. It stops protein synthesis and causes bacterial cell death by attaching itself to the ribosomes of the bacteria. It works well against gram-negative and some gram-positive bacteria when given intramuscularly or intravenously. Rash, nausea, and injection site soreness are typical adverse effects. Dizziness, renal impairment, and hearing loss are serious but uncommon adverse effects. It necessitates cautious dosage and close observation, particularly in patients receiving long-term treatment or those with renal impairment.
